Our work

The gap doesn’t close itself.

We specialize in bridging the distance between city officials and the residents they serve — and in meeting the needs that show up while that bridge is being built.

01

Community gardens everywhere

Our primary focus: establishing community gardens in churches, schools, businesses and on vacant land, so fresh food and a place to gather are within walking distance of every neighbor.

  • Gardens at churches, schools and in neighborhoods across the community
  • Satellite gardens hosted by residents and businesses on accessible vacant land
  • Open to neighbors of every age to grow, harvest and gather

02

Bridging residents and city officials

We put neighbors and the people who make decisions in the same room, so a concern is heard directly instead of disappearing into a process.

  • Residents bring the concerns; officials hear them first-hand
  • Follow-up on what was raised, not just the meeting itself
  • Neighbors learn who to call, and officials learn what is actually needed

03

Coat drives

When the weather turns, we collect and hand out warm coats to neighbors who would otherwise go without.

  • Coats collected from the community and given out locally
  • Sizes for children and adults, no paperwork to receive one
  • A chance to ask what else a household needs while they are there

04

Feeding the hungry

We feed people. Meals and groceries go to neighbors, elders and families who are stretching what they have.

  • Food shared directly with households in the community
  • Meals that bring people together instead of sending them away
  • A quiet way to check in with someone who may not ask for help

05

Community assessments and resident feedback

We ask residents what their community needs and carry those answers forward — the assessment belongs to the neighborhood, not to us.

  • Conversations and surveys led in the neighborhood itself
  • Findings shared back with residents and with officials
  • Priorities set by what people say, not by what we assume

06

Neighbor-to-neighbor counseling

Sometimes what someone needs is another person nearby who will listen. We connect neighbors for genuine, local support.

  • One-to-one connection with a neighbor, not a call center
  • Space to tell your story and be heard without judgment
  • Support from someone who lives where you live

07

Community events

We host gatherings where residents can voice concerns, find others who share their thinking, and turn ideas into action.

  • A place to raise a concern out loud
  • Meet neighbors who care about the same things
  • Ideas that leave the room with people ready to act on them

Generational Wealth sits alongside all of it.

Our newest and largest initiative takes the same idea inside the congregation: gatherings that turn into a place where families plan for, and acquire, tangible assets.
